P-BAA is a new, hip, and edgy association dedicated to promoting the sport of pickle ball across America. As the Communications Director, you will be responsible for leading the development and execution of the organization's communications strategy to build a strong brand and grow its audience.
About the Role
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy to promote P-BAA and its mission to a wide range of stakeholders, including members, sponsors, media, and the general public.
• Develop and manage all content, including social media, email marketing, and website content to ensure consistent messaging and branding.
• Create and manage a calendar of events, promotions, and campaigns to generate interest and participation in pickle ball.
• Establish and maintain relationships with media outlets, bloggers, influencers, and other relevant parties to secure coverage and increase visibility.
• Manage the P-BAA's public relations efforts, including drafting press releases, media pitches, and responses to media inquiries.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the executive team, marketing, and events teams, to ensure all communications are aligned with the overall strategy and messaging.
• Monitor, analyze and report on the effectiveness of all communication channels, and use data insights to adjust the strategy as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or related field.
At least 5 years of experience in communications or public relations, with experience in sports and event management preferred.
Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with experience in content creation and management.
Proven experience in social media management, email marketing, and website content management.
Ability to think creatively and strategically to develop and execute effective communications campaigns.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
Passion for sports and interest in pickle ball is a plus.
